Hey Everyone,
Hope this day is treating you well
Has anyone here been in a nice restaurant in Interlaken they can recommend?
I was thinking of going to Chez Pierre, but not too sure. The website has some nice food descriptions, Trip Advisor has good ratings.
Any ideas?
Thank you
Hooters. . . . if you like hot food. . . check out their chicken wings.
I dont recall the rest of the food being too great though.
For a celebratory meal, where you want to take your time, I would say
Benacus . We have been three times and not had a bad meal, service can be a little slow, I would recommend the tasting menu.
As much as i love chicken wings, i prefer to have some nice Swiss speciality with loads of cheese or creme and meat etc
Benacus. Hummm looks nice. Will definitely check it out
To me the Hotel Alpenblick in Wilderswil is the best one. Second is the Restaurant La Terrasse of the Hotel Jungfrau and third is the Restaurant l'Ambiance of the Hotel Beau Rivage.
We really liked the Baren in Unterseen ( not far from West station) when we were in Interlaken.

If you were after traditional Swiss cuisine then I second this recommendation (you weren't very specific in the OP), only thing I would mention is that it is straight up Bahnhofstrasse from interlaken West , not Ost.
We saw the head chef/proprietor of Benacus in the Bären. So, if you want Fondue, go to the Bären!
Hello Again
First of all, thank you very much for your support. We looked around for the restaurants and we decided to go to Chez Pierre.
And the reason is...LammHaxe! It is the first restaurant I found serving it.
I can't find any boucher who has it, nor in coop and migros.
I have to say it was really good and I would recommend it
We used to cook lamb shanks regularly in the U.K. Our local butcher always had them.
That's one thing I miss here.
The Swiss are so dull when it comes to different cuts of meat and different ways to serve them.
I've had lamb shank a couple of times in restaurants in Neuchatel but you're right you don't come across it very often.
