Hi,
Can some one pls help me in finding out good restaurants serving asian food(Indian,Chinese) in and around Geneve?
For Vietnamese/Thai I personally recommend wooden hut. Just google wooden hut geneva to go on their home page. For indian food I personally recommend little india. It is still very European but the best I have had so far. If you fansy something expensive and contemporary then you can checkout nirvana or rasoi. Just google them and you can get their respective websites
Bon Appetit
for indian my fav ( and fav of many ) is "little india"
http://www.littleindia.ch/
but.....if you are IN India why are you looking for Indian food in GE ?
I've always found this
review site useful. You can search by cuisine, price, locality etc. It'll even have a go (not always successfully) at translating the reviews if you click the Union flag.
But be warned, unlike the rest of the world, Indian and Chinese food in Geneva are never the cheap option.
Oh and as far as I know there are no South Indian places. Someone please, please, please correct me if I'm wrong, I could murder a marsala dosa.
p.s... if anyone has a lead on good Chinese I'd love to hear also...
I know of two..one in Versoix and one over the border in Divonne.. neither of which I'll go back to.
For good Chinese, try these two:
Le Canard Intelligent in Carouge
La Baguette D'Or at Plainpalais
Both good, but quite expensive, be warned.
There are cheap places like La Feuille de Banane and Chez Leung around Plainpalais. Not great by any means, but if I don't feel like cooking one night, their takeout is decent for a quick fix.
thanks.... I don't get over plainpalais way much... despite my location on my profile I work in town but live just a lil ways out in Vaud
we don't go south of the river at night mate... "*LOL*
I would love a masala dosa with spicy, fragrant sambar and chutney...sigh..
I just asked an Indian colleague.. and... he knows of no where in Geneva that does s. indian.
so sorry.......
Spice of India is also very good. I believe its the same owners as Little India.
Nirvana is good but more westernized, you order your plate of food and it comes with the rice and side of vegetables but I prefer when you can order several dishes and share them with friends, its more convivial...
There is a place near meyrin called madhura which does good south indian in Geneva. You can google it to get the exact location.
thanks... I just looked that place up... I go past it from time to time.. but not been there for years... it used to be a little cafe with a number of petanque pistes out back.
There's alot of asian resto in Geneva, any particular dish you're craving for?
