Roaming Data and Voice

Planning a 4 week trip to Western Canada and am looking for advice on how to get a reasonable cost roaming package. I have searched and search so am aware of what’s out there but am hoping for personal experience.

I have a Continuous Glucose Monitor tracking my blood sugar levels which is shared via the internet with other people and my Watch (direct connection not possible).

An iPhone 11 so I have capacity for eSIM.

I’m less worried about price but am looking for something that just works, can be extended if necessary and also provides for voice and text.

Many thanks in advance.

I'm with UPC (which is now Sunrise, sorta) and they have a lot of packages for roaming (data, calls, messaging) in North America. You can get an "unlimited" upgrade for a month from them that covers Canada and the US:

I don't know who your carrier is, but this is the kind of plan I've used when traveling in the EU and North America and I've had no issues from a technical or billing perspective.

Check out the app Airalo. It can give you an on-demand esim for any of many different countries. The prices are very reasonable

I assume you don’t want to change you entire mobile contract for one trip?

So options are, ask your Swiss provider how much for unlimited service in Canada for a month. Or get a Canadian pre-payed sim with unlimited service when you arrive (we did this in Oz and Mexico).

Thanks everyone. I’ve dowloaded the Airola app and it looks like it suits my nees. I probably also need to do a voice/sms package with my local provider Wingo. But that’s not expensive.

if it's for only one trip, you can buy a card at the airport when you are arriving, just check the plans available before you go.

Also check Digitec.ch, they have sim cards but I am not certain it's right for you.
