Romania and Bulgaria join Schengen zone on 31.03.2024

No more passport control at airports starting next Sunday

However, if traveling by car or train…passport check is still there. So, it’s some kind Air Schengen zone.

And they were getting blocked by the soviet-infested Austrians who had no real arguments, just like to tacitly and openly support anything that sows division in the EU and support moscow.

There goes the neighbourhood!

Things are not looking well for Mr. Putin, so expect propaganda in full power to talk down current developments over there:

  • Bulgaria joining Schengen
  • Bulgaria buying F-16 from Lockheed-Martin and general upgrade of their army
  • Bulgaria buying nuclear fuel from US starting April 2024
  • Bulgaria a buying 2 nuclear reactors from Westinghouse to start operations by 2034

So, a loud boo for Bulgaria, please.

Back to our earthly concerns…any recommendations for wine and food from the new Schengen zone members? :yum:

Two come to mind immediately:

Romanian mici (elongated grilled meatballs) are really nice, when eaten in a good place.
Bulgarian shopska salad.

On the balance though… :smiling_face_with_tear:
