Rugenbräu beer

Hi everyone,

I was recently in Interlaken and I really enjoyed this beer. Do you know if it is possible to find it anywhere else in Switzerland, specially in the French-speaking part? (I'm in Geneva).

Thanks!

Thanks a lot! that was quick. Unfortunately as I suspected they don't sell it anywhere around, nearest location is 80 kms away (Les Moulins)

Most Bern Denners carry it.

Just got back from Grindelwald. Rugenbräu is a fantastic beer and very refreshing after a hiking day. Is there any place that sells it in central Zürich? (nothing on the official list...).

Just had a look at Drinks of the World located in Zurich Railstation: they don't sell it in Zurich but in their branch in Bern (3rd. floor of the railstation)

...a visit to the capital ?

Not exactly central, but you can try Rio Markt stores, it is not that far away

ps: I say "try" because in RugenBrau website it says it is sold there ( http://www.rugenbraeu.ch/bier/bezugs...chash=ececdcae ), but in Rio Getraenke it is not listed: http://www.rio-getraenke.ch/fileadmi...e_Biere_01.pdf

I friend of mine had sent some bottles by train. It's couple of years ago but they might still do it. Ask them.

I also checked Drinks of the World in Zürich Hauptbahnhof and ditto, they don't stock Rugenbräu. In fact the guys I asked had never heard of it. Considering that shop seems to know beer, it made me think that Switzerland must have more breweries than I realized.

Not sure if this is common knowledge but there's a good Zürich brewery called Amboss. Unfortunately it is patchy which bars sell the beer, in my experience. They make about five different beers and there is one great one for a summer day. Cannot remember the name of it though, I'm not quite sure why that is...

What are the best Swiss beers to look for?

Here you go...and you can order online from now on.

The guy exports his beers to NY...

Worth a visit in the Jura.

Enjoy
