Running track open to the public Zurich?

Hi all

I am wondering if any of you have come across a running track in Switzerland open to the public?

I have contacted the Zurich athletics club however it is not that easy to go and train with them therefore I will do my speed work myself but do prefer speed work on a track where there are no dogs, prams, poeple etc to navigate around!!

Let me know if any of you know any...

There are bloody loads of them!!!

The most central one is along the Sihl river - opposite the fire station - close to Wiedikon station.

The one in Zollikon is always available (if you want a 300m) track.

My favourite is the track in the sky - on Aeschenstrasse between Aesch and Looren - http://www.mapplus.ch?x=691739&y=243638&zl=15

I haven't found any central list of all the tracks but if you search for 'Leichtathletik' on google maps you get a fair few leads, including Sportanlage Sihlholzli on Manessestrasse as mentioned above (near Wiedikon) which has changing and storage facilities and no charge (well, no one has ever asked me to pay and there are no signs!). There is also one at Zoo - Hochschulsportanlage Fluntern, but have not been there.

To be honest I've found it easiest to look on google maps satellite on the 500ft zoom around a specific area as they are quite easy to spot!

Do you want company? I like my speed sessions too and I have one or two friends who would definitely be up for company on the track that I can put you in touch with - will send you a PM.

There is also a 300m track in Affoltern am Albis, might be closer to your locstat.

Any recommendations for running tracks in Basel?

I think there is one near Schuetzenmatt Park but I'm not sure if it open to the public and what times.
