Salary for a full time webmaster in Switzerland?

Dear all,

I need to make an internal requisition to hire a webmaster (100%) for a large international company (which is also cutting budgets, remember, we are in a recession).

What is the going rate for such a position?

It requires content management, update of intranet/internet pages using a CMS, creating new pages, improvising with html when the CMS (very old) has limitations, etc. So good html (and possibly very basic programming) would be an asset.

I need to submit the proposal to the management before I can officially recruit, this is why I ask for the going rate.

If so why don't you ring the agent up, tell them your situation and ask for guidelines, the worst they can do is not give you an answer.

why do people who run websites get to be called web "masters" yes the much more complicated job of running a network is referred to as a network "administrator" ? No wonder I dont have any friends. It's job-title discrimination if I've ever heard it.

That is one of those IT buzz words that will probably be soon replaced.

It is not an easy question. Salary is based on Education and Work Experiences.

But for the budget I would suggest to add a rage of 60K to 80K.

60K is more like newcomer, young, Education "Berufslehre" or "SIZ".

80K is more like experienced up to 30 years with good Education like Eidg. Fachausweis, Hòˆhere Fachschule, Fachhochschule.

With this you can't be much wrong

Btw. Agencies likes to tend to higher salary information as they earn more if a company pays more

Have you considered outsourcing the work if you the company is budget concious, if you IM me I have an outsourcing company that can quote you, we will probably be half the price or less than you are quoted here in Switzerland.

As far as I know the Mods of the EF get none, so this might be a lowest salary in the catogory, with respect to the Mods though!
