Hi, Does anyone know of a sand beach in Basel. I meant something like a beach. I came across a lot of spots one can call a pebbles beach..but nothing with fine sand. I want to take my toddler to play. Pebbles beach is not very suitable as it is difficult for my toddler to run around without falling and also I've to be too careful abt him putting those pebbles in his mouth.

The place that Hausamsee has mentioned is the best, for sure.
A secondary option is here, near the Tinguely museum. Note that when you go down the stairs to the water’s edge, it is very rocky. You need to traipse along the waterfront to get to the sandy section that I’m recommending (there may be other steps that get you there but I never bothered looking):

I would recommend taking your toddler to a swimming pool to keep cool on a hot summer's day rather than the Rhine River, which moves pretty fast.
Eglisee is really great as they have a small pool for wee ones as well as a large pool where small kids can float around. Your kid is free for now and you might need an abonnement, which is cheaper with a Family Pass and it gets you past the cue.
Another good place for a day out is the Wiese River in the Lange Erlen. There is also a nice playground near Tier Park.
