Any idea what the slip could have said? Perhaps, is overnight parking not allowed?

I parked my car at the P+Rail station in Thalwil recently for 4 days. I paid in advance via the app for the entire period. Upon return, there was a slip on the windshield but of course it rained over the weekend, so the slip was completely obliterated.
Likely it was a fine for unpaid parking. And I would start with checking:
1. It was P+R area and not a city parking.
2. P+R confirmation contains correct plate number.
3. It wasn't a reserved place (for Mobility, for example).
The one parking ticket I received was in a plastic bag for just this reason.
Quite likely it was spam offering to buy your unused (gold/bike/furniture/children) with a mobile number to call.
Keep the evidence of your parking payment (and maybe also the weather details) and wait for the reminder to come through the post.

It certainly isn't unknown for parking 'tickets' to get blown off, or otherwise disappear. An ex-colleague of mine used to collect them, those that were put on other people's cars. He thought it was funny.
So, yes, you will get a reminder to pay.
In my limited experience the payslip is in a plastic envelope, exactly to keep it from becoming unreadable. Some people try to get their own fine paid, they put their payslip under a neighbor's wipers, preferably during bad weather; without an envelope this is what I'd suspect.
Phone the police that covers the P+R and ask if there's a fine open on your plate number (an email in English will be fine, too). Make sure a fine issued by SBB is visible to them.
Or wait, AFAIK they send a reminder with a new payslip. However a reminder is just courtesy, without one the fine will go to court and become much more expensive due to court fees, so the suggested option is to call.
