SBB Rail Check Usage

Dear all,

I received a SBB Rail Check Voucher from my Company for CHF 900.The Voucher can be used to buy GA or Monthly Abo or Any Abo not in ZVV/ZPass network.I travel only 2 days in a week to my Office in Olten. In this case, i feel byuing a GA or a Monthly Abo is not worth.

Can anyone suggest as to how i can use the Voucher. The Voucher from my view is not personalized as it does not bear any Name. It has only my company Name/My Personal Id Number.

Since you travel a specific route a couple times a week, I would recommend the Multiple-Journey Ticket. Each ticket allows you to travel 6 times on a specified route, and you can buy as many as you need.

Another option would be the point-to-point season ticket, either per month, or for a full year. This allows you to travel as much as you like on a specific route. Cheaper than a GA, but definitely more expensive than the Multiple-Journey Ticket.

I'd recommend putting it toward a multi-year halbtax. That way you can buy discounted fares all over the country, not just in one region.

That's an excellent deal, it's a shame you are not in a situation where you can really make the most of it. I get a similar thing from my employer, although the amount is less.

In your place, and if your circumstances allow it, I would splurge on a GA and spend a year of weekends discovering the country by public transport... otherwise get an annual Streckenabo for the two days a week where you travel to work, even though you probably won't be using the 900 CHF to the full.
