Thanks.

He also prescribed some Silicon strips/plasters (quite expensive, 50chf for about 1.2m x 5cm) which are supposed to help the scar heal more neatly - I am sure if you describe them, the pharmacist will know what you mean. It isn't this that I am using, but the same concept...
All of them contain heparin , allantoin and other stuff like onion extract, dexpanthenol etc. in differnt strength and combination.
Do they work? As you can see the creams are not clinical tested themself but the formulation is based on literature. AFAIK all of the above are List D == over the counter. I used Gorgonium for a operation scar on my hand. Looks nice.
An other insider tip for smaller scars is : Louis Widmer Augencreme.
However I then decided to try a more expensive silicon gel, and found it also very good. Have used it for about 2 months so far and seen really good improvement in my scar healing. Of course, I can't judge how much it would have improved anyway had I not used the gel, but I am pleased with the result.
The gel I used was Kelo-Cote, made in US, and around 45-50Fr for a 15g tube. Most pharmacies can order it for same day delivery. Their website said you shouldn't use it for more than 3 months continuously, so that 15g tube should be just about enough (depends how big the scar is...). Btw I checked in a French pharmacy just over the border and it was no cheaper.
Good luck!
If you really need to work it, you should get two of the rubber "thimbles" that they sell in larger stationary shops. These thimbles are normally used for counting paper currency. They come in S/M/L. Get the ones that you can put on your thumbs. That way you can massage each side of the scar to get it "unstuck". A bit of back and forth, and circular is best.
Works like a charm. Cost about CHF 4.00.
Now I'm left with lot of ''scars on the face ''
Bumping this thread for any recommended creams! thanks
