searching for musicians in Zurich

Hi,

I'm Bernardo, I arrived in Zurich few months ago for my PhD at university.

I play (absolutely just for fun) bass guitar and guitar. I would like to create or enter a group in Zurich, I'm not a great musician but I was playing for three years in a band and I think I'm good enough to have fun . I used to play rock or blues music, and I'm a fan of authors like Bob Dylan and Cohen, De Andrè,, DeGregori (which are very popular in Italy).

If you like one of the above mentioned genres and you would like to start a group or need somebody to play bass guitar or acoustic guitar, just let me know.

Tschuss

Bernardo

Hi Bernardo,

I'm also looking for some people to play together. I've been playing guitars for a long time. I've moved to Zurich recently to start with my PhD as well and am eager to start a new band which would play for fun and would be interested in writing its own songs. Performing regularly could be a goal but having fun should be the most important thing. Even though I'm more in post rock/hard rock/metal, we could maybe try and see whether we can get along.

Drop me a message if you are interested in.

Cheers

Ömer

Hi,

any aspiring bassists or singers out there who want to meet for a practice every couple of weeks? Enthusiasm more important than talent - it's just for fun.

I play drums (2 years experience), my friend is a talented guitarist, both in our late 30s. Our usual singer and bass player are now too busy to join regularly so I'm looking for new people. I know of the music.ch site but we're not at that standard. Classic rock covers unless you want to write your own stuff. We rent a practice room in Zurich which contains all the kit.

Peter.

Hi, have sent you a PM. I've just started a similar thread - drummer and guitarist looking for bass and singer. Singers are easier to find than bass players.

Peter.

Hi,

I am a female singer and also living in Zurich doing my PhD.. Let me know if I can join you guys

I've put the musicians together to avoid too many double posts and confusion.

Maybe I've just made things worse...

Ciao Bernardo,

I am apianist and a singer. I am new here:-) I am also looking for musicians to play with - actually to sing with. Do you already have a group? If yes, may be you can reccommend me someone else - a guitar player or a pianist to accompany me (if not a band). I am more into musical, pop, rock, some jazz.

Let's even meet and see what is out there!

Hi.

I am a professional singer/musician from Vancouver living in Winterthur. I run a recording studio now but would love to be part of a live project. PM me if you are looking for guitar, bass and or vocals.

Cam.

Hi,

we are looking for a bass player and a singer (male or female) for our gipsy/folk band based in Zurich ( http://www.myspace.com/idisappunto ).

We are currently italians, french and german musicians, so we usually speak english. Our repertoire is mainly based on European popular songs. We use to have concerts in Zurich (bars, parties). We reharse once a week in Zurich where we have our room (close to Irchel).

If you are interested in coming and trying to play with us, please contact us by Private Messaging.

Thanks,

Jacopo.

Hi All,

I and my husband are professional singers. We are Christians, and do gospel, jazz, R&B, blues, reggae, etc. We often sing at weddings and various events in and out of Europe. We would like to know where in Zurich do musicians get registered, and would also like to meet and connect with other musicians.

I wish you all a blessed and lovely day!

J

Hi All,

I'm an italian living in Switzerland for almost 5ys, in Zug for the last 3ys and studying/playing Tenor sax for just one year.

I'm usually into blues, swing and ragtime music but looking fwd to join a group to play for fun (my level is still quite low).

Once a week I have music lessons at the Musikschule in Zug and once a week I also play in a small saxophon ensemble (3 tenors, 4 alt and 1 sopran sax) in my school.

Please feel free to contact me for proposals which suit my level of experience.

thanks and regards,

Stefano Atzeni - atzeboya

Darn.

Definitely feel discriminated here. Why don't you guys want any ticinesi?!

You could could rehearse here in the south, climate is much better, frauen are more [whatever], men are even more [ditto], and you can't beat the food

Moreover we have a real electronics tech-head (st2lemans) based down here as well...

Oh yeah - I'd tag along to play electric geetar, or to do sound engineering (with Cam), but I'm to old to be a roadie (and I have a screwed up knee).

'Later...

Hi there,

I'm a singer looking for musicians for acoustic covers (soft rock, pop, 80s, motown).

Repertoire would contain songs by Queen, Elton John, George Michael, Robbie Williams, Hall&Oates, Morrissey, Rod Stewart, David Bowie, Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Peter Cox (Go West), Stevie Wonder, Michael McDonald, Matchbox 20, Oasis, Stereophonics, Wet Wet Wet, Nik Kershaw, Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Suede, Divine Comedy, Parachute, Neon Trees, Ben's Brother, Plain White T's, Company of Thieves, Diane Birch.

A band would be perfect but since it's harder to find I would settle for less (bass+guitar or keyboards if both able to play and add backing vocals as well).

I'm in Ticino but I can move anywhere for music :-)

Might be a long shot in the dark but any classical musicians here - especially those interested in performing chamber style or even duets?

Am always looking for fellow musicians passionate about classicial music to perform/work together!

Are you still looking for players?

Sorry to piggy back off your message, but I think this post is relevent:

I‘m a Canadian living in Zürich for over 2 years and I‘ve been playing drums/percussion here in ZH, but find my pleasure lies in jamming and meeting new people. My friends and myself hosted an successful open mic for 3 years in Vancouver which gave us a chance to jam meet many excellent musicians! I would like to do something similar in ZH.

I‘m thinking of trying a free, outdoor Saturday jam day July 30th. The idea is to bring musicians from around town together whether its just to meet new players, to show your skills or to find others to jam with for the day, or further.

If your interested please send me a PM and I will create a email list for the July 30th day of jamming.

Cheers

If any of you know a musician / one man show / troubadour who is interested in performing at a wedding on sep 3, 2011, please do let me know. I am desperately looking for an entertainer.. I am envisioning a guy with a guitar with a great sense of humor and a wide range of songs... any ideas? I'd be grateful.

Hi Bernardo:

I see you have already like 10 members for the band....is there more places...?
