Seattle Cream Cheese Dogs

Can anyone tell me where to find good franks or sausages for making American style hotdogs? I have an intense craving and I know that Wienerli or white Bratwurst are not what I need.

Thanks for any tips.

Sorry - I know this isn't the tip you were waiting for, but....

I have never heard of Seattle Cream Cheese Dogs, and I'm from Vancouver (BC)! Do I need to do a jaunt down to the Emerald City just to try one before I jump a plane to CH?! How have these escaped my notice?!

I anticipate having a parallel inquiry when I relocate: Mennonite Farmer Sausage . There's got to be a Euro equivalent, but I'll bet it has a different nomenclature. Can't do without Farmer Sausage. Best.Cause.of.Nitrate.Induced.Cancers.EVER!

Someone needs to start a thread or a blog page on wiener equivalencies and substitutions (if only for the jokes...). But seriously, I would find this enormously useful.

If you can wait 6 months or more, I'll have done the research myself. I could aspire to rival Abe Frohman, "The Sausage King of Chicago"...!

I lived in Seattle for 4 years and don't recall ever hearing of those. Now I'm curious!

But Migros and Coop both sell products that are quite similar to typical American hot dogs. They're often sold in packages of two and are found with all the other sausages. They even have chicken hot dogs that are pretty good.

Hell, I lived in Seattle for 13 years and never heard of this

They LOOK tasty...!

Mmmm... those do look tasty!

Now I'm craving a penis...

I mean, a hot dog.

Cream Cheese + Hot Dogs ? Isn ́t that gilding the lily?
