For the first, they are second-hand shops that are operated like businesses. The shop owner either pays you upfront, or pays you when your items get sold. You can decide to let them donate the remaining items if you do not want them back. These shops receive items during their opening hours. Your local community would have advertisements. They are usually smaller items, and larger items are posted on their ad walls.
For the second type, you have to locate their website to see when the time slots per week are allocated for receiving items. These are run by volunteers who use the funds for social initiatives. They will collect what they want and can sell. For larger items, you can contact them for an appointment for viewing, after which if they want the item(s), they will organise the transport to collect it.
Alternatives include booking a 'stand' at local flea market events that are usually orgnanized by the local community's family club. For large items that cannot be discarded with the abfallmarkers, or through the Saturday recycling centres, one has to call for a disposal truck that collects by weight to destroy.
thanks
See above suggestions. You could also try HIOB, they take good quality stuff of all sorts of things.
If you Google under “children’s second hand clothing” in either English or German, you can find a list of those shops near you. Good luck!
cheers
This is in Oerlikon and a friend of mine donated her belongings before moving back to US.
