second interview done

hi,

i have attended a second interview with a gap of two weeks after first interview. Now the company asked for reference letters.

what could be next?

did anyone faced same situation.

A job offer ?

The guy who could be my boss, introduced me to his boss during second interview and he asked some questions as well. Is this common in Switzerland?

Does it mean that they like my profile?

I didnt hear anything from them yet.

Your potential line manager introducing a potential employee they have been tasked with hiring to their direct manager is normal anywhere.

No it doesn't. It means they are assessing your profile. At the same time, it does not mean they do not like your profile.

Patience. It has not been long. Wait at least as long as you had to wait for the second interview.

It sounds a positive experience as far as job searching goes (but does not guarantee you the role).

I would provide your references and follow up in a week or 2 if you don't hear anything back.

Good luck.

Yes, happened to me for all the jobs I got in Switzerland.

You should provide the referance letters as soon as possible, with contact information (Phone number, email) of the person who is giving the referance, if it is not included in the letter.

They will contact the person who gave the referance to make sure the letter is real.

There are many fake people looking to get to Switzerland, they will do many checks before making an offer.

did not hear anything from them even after two weeks. Called them, the higher manager told me "the message for you is that they are very interested in your profile but need more time for internal processes". Might take more than 2 weeks .

Sit tight, its not a no, which is far quicker to say, thus, it's looking positive but not full proof yet.

It could also be the person who checks the referance is on holiday. You just have to wait. But keep looking for something else.

Not much to say, just wanted to wish you good luck on getting the job

Hello,

Two interviews are normal process, no matter if it is for a Manager, Director, Assistant or Customer Service position.

The reference letter is a good thing, because it means that your application is interesting and to confirm their choice, they need a written confirmation from your side as soon as possible; then they will contact those references to be sure you did the letter properly.

So you do not have to worry and I am sure everything will going well. In case of negative answer, do not hesitate the different reasons they did not choose your application, I think it could help you for the next applications.

I wish you good luck and take it easy...if it is not this one, it would another one.

Best Regards, Elizabeth

Hi, It is very common to have multiple rounds of interviews - line manager, supervisor, HR, BoD etc. It depends on high the position is on the tree. I would suggest that you also prep your references in case the co. decided to have a tele-meeting. Your reference should know what attributes to highlight in the call with your potential employer. It sounds all good so far. All the best to you.

Ok, now the HR informed me that there is other possible candidate and they will make selection by end of next week.

In this kind of situation, in most of the cases I lost it

they're probably monitoring this thread so relax, take it easy and stop hassling them. That could be the tipping point.....against you.

Ok, now its more than 2 months now I took the second interview. I informed them a couple of times now that I have other offers to consider and I would like to know their decision. And their reply is that they are positive about me and want me to wait for some more time.

Is it common that it takes such a long time and even after telling you got other offers they still ask you to wait for some more time.

if it is for Crédit Suisse, I heard that something is holding up all hiring.

No its not CS. But a MNC engineering company in Zurich.

If you have a sponsor in the co. you may want to check with him/her. I have been on the other side myself and have shortlisted candidates and have advised HR for more profiles from the market.

This is typically done when the open position is not a burning requirement. Did the reference check happen?

Also agree with a previous comment on the thread - pls be discreet on the thread about the discussions.
