Here are my finalists in a search of a few properties.
Kilchberg - Rockstar Ultra Modern Seestrasse (only a road between the apt and the lake, stunning views huge terrace facing the lake. A Wall of floor to ceiling windows in bedroom and lounge facing the lake. But very wierd kitchen and small lounge. 2 mins to the train, convenient for work close to Enge.
Seefeld - 5mins walk to lake (and lakeside restaurant), view of mountains and if the trees were lower a tiny bit of the lake, quiet side street but 1 min walk to tram. Bright and spacious duplex with a fireplace, a balcony and a roof terrace. CHF500 more expensive than above but an extra bedroom and bathroom in Seefeld.
Kilchberg gets the wow factor on the view, huge terrace and modernness.
Seefeld is also a lovely aprtment. Im new here so not yet sure how I'll be spending my time but I came from NYC and HK before that so Im guessing a bit of life will be good, along with the fresh air and lake. Plus I would prefer to cycle to work from either and commute time is about the same.
All input much appreciated
Hmmm, looks like your stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Kilchberg is much easier to get home to after the
Sunday night Pub Quiz at the Shamrock
They are 2 totally different places.
Kilchberg is quiet. There are with essentially no shops (coop and bakery at the station leave a bit to be desired) and very few restaurants but it is really nice and the taxes are low. It is very well connected to the city but when you need a taxi after being out late it can be a bit expensive.
Seefeld is in the city, close to lots of restaurants and bars and easy access to almost everything you could want or need.
Personally I like Kilchberg better but it is a lifestyle choice.
I lived in Seefeld for awhile and loved it at the time but now I live in Kilchberg and absolutley love it ! For me it is a lifestyle choice. If you like to go out alot then Seefeld is better. Its all about what you want.
Good advice from others so far.
Also, since you say the kitchen is 'weird', how much cooking do you anticipate doing? Given the price of eating out, and take-away, will your budget mean you prepare a lot of meals at home? If so, a good kitchen is important. Things that appear just a bit odd may become very annoying over time.
Sorry, I don't mean to rain on your parade, but the fact that you are able to DECIDE between one place or the other really makes me jealous.
I am Swiss and have applied for 3 of my "dream" apartments in the past two months only to be rejected by ALL of them.
Please let me know which one you will NOT take, as I am very interested in it.
thats true. Should apply to both and see if you get one!
I am not kidding... let me know which one you don't want and where to apply for it. You can PM me thanks!
