Any advice on how to do it? We have never sold a car. How to choose a dealer that makes the sale in my name when I have already left? How do we know that the price is fair? Any precautions that we should have in particular regarding the process, the vendor,..? How much is the normal percentage that they will keep from the sale? Thank you.
I want to sell our car here in Zurich because we are leaving Switzerland at the end of summer.
You have to sort out yourself what would be an o.k. price, unless you want to trust other people who do not have your money as their main interest. Just look at equal cars that are for sale and you should have a good indication of the price.
You can offer it yourself here, on your work/family, ricardo, facebook whatever, or use a garage if you do not want to do it yourself. (selling a car is pretty simple and straight forward)
Expect about half the current market listed value.
To get a hint of the fair price look what similar cars are listed on Ricardo https://auto.ricardo.ch or Autoscout https://www.autoscout24.ch
You may also get the Eurotax value https://www.eurotax.ch/de/fahrzeugbewertung/ (simmiliar to Kelly Blue Book, Schwacke, Parkers, etc.)
You should get two prices. The higher is the price you would pay if you buy the car from a used car dealer after it was serviced, detailed, etc. The other one is the value you could get if you sell it to a used car dealer.
To sell fast you may have to go considerably under the sell price. Depending on car, model, type, etc. you may even be able to find a buyer which pays more very easily.
As aSITUS knows as he bought a motorbike from me for about 30% of the prices of other ones listed.
