Does anyone have experience sending packages or mail to afghanistan? Im scared that the swiss post will nt know what to do with the weird adresses.
Hi, i recently adopted a soldier in afghanistan. I was looking forward to sending packages from home, but now that Ive eatablished a relationship, i'd like to continue aending packages, but from here.
Does the address state the country? If so, it shouldn't be a problem for the Swiss post.
If the Soldier is British send it to the UK first with the BFPO number on the parcel.
Seeing as the OP is from Texas, I'm guessing the soldier is American
I can tell you (I have a friend who has also adopted a soldier ) not to include aerosols (deodorant, etc.) in the parcel, otherwise the entire parcel will be returned to sender.
Yes, its to an american post (APO AE) in Afghanistan.
I was worried that once I sent a package to Afghanistan it wouldn't be delivered.
I was thinking about sending it to his APO address and including "USA" as the country---hoping that once it got into US hands it would be redirected to the address of intent. I don't want to send it until I'm sure.
Does anyone know how the postal system in afghanistan works? The USPS doesn't include any information on the subject.
Thanks in advance to your posts.
The Afghans might...
The same process.....send it to the USA first with the APO address on the parcel.
I've had success in the past mailing letters to a friend in the US Navy by writing his APO address and USA on the envelope. He was on tour and received the letter somewhere in the Indian Ocean without too much delay.
Thanks y'all!
Good to know how it works.
