I have been married to my husband, a Swiss citizen, since 2020. Before our marriage, I was a student at a Hotel Management School for five years, starting in 2015. Unfortunately, our relationship has reached a point where separation or even divorce seems inevitable. My primary concern is whether this would affect my right to remain in Switzerland, as I am a non-EU citizen and have been living here for almost 10 years. I believe I might be eligible for a C permit by July 2025, but I am unsure if living separately from him would jeopardize my residency status or affect my eligibility for the C permit.

Could someone please provide clarification on this matter?

It’s great that you’re close to being eligible for a C permit, but it’s always best to check with a lawyer or immigration office to be sure.
