Setanta sports - any good?

I was just checking out the TV schedules for the England World cup qualifying campaign and I see that the BBC has lost the rights not only to those games, but also to the FA cup. It seems that Setanta http://www.setanta.com/en/UK/ now have the rights to amongst other things, the England away games, the FA cup and also 46 live premiership games.

Their subscription rates look OK at 13 quid a month with no contract and with the exchange rate at the moment it is even better value, I would just like to know if the service and reception via freesat is any good. So does anyone subscribe to Setanta and if so are they any good, and can their presenters replace Garry and friends?

My left testicle could replace Gary and friends.

As for Setanta, I have found that the connection to it is quite poor and it cuts out a lot over here, whilst no other channel does. The content is fine and they do have better analysis than the BBC I would say (not tricky, but ITV still employ Andy Townsend I think!). If you are set on watching the qualifiers at home then it is essential i guess, but for the £156/year you'll pay for it, you could probably enjoy it in the pub for less

Probably also worth mentioning that Setanta use the same encryption system as Sky so you'll need a Sky box to receive it (as well as the Setanta card).

Ah, I didn't realise that. In that case it's not worth persuing from my side as I have an HD sat receiver.

As Bretstirling says, stick to the pub.

Sort of, you need the SKY box and the SKY card with a Setanta subscription...there is no seperate Setanta card.
