Setting up LLC in USA for rental property

I own a house in Virginia, USA but it is currently being rented out and I have a property manager, so I don't have to deal with much from here, just approve certain repairs and collect the money.

I recently talked to my tax man in USA about filing my taxes for 2015 and he suggested getting an LLC and having the house put into the LLC. Not only good for tax purposes, but also for personal liability in case I am ever sued.

Has anyone set up an LLC for a rental property in the USA from here? Any advice on whether its advisable or not? I have assets in both USA and Switzerland and just want to protect myself as much as possible.
