shopping on Sunday....www.kreislauf4und5.ch

Ive not been here long, but I know Sundays are a day when basically you cannot do all the things you might have done back in Blighty or wherever (which is good if the sun is shining).

Did a search and could not see a thread so creating one. This weekend there is an event called kreislauf4und5 which is basically a promotion of the 4th and 5th areas (Langstrasse/Josefstrasse etc etc) to the rest of the world that is Zurich that they are not dodgy and in fact contain some really cool places.

Anyway the website is www.http://www.kreislauf4und5.ch/ download the map, take a wander and you cannot miss the shops participating. Yes of course they will be open today (12noon to 5pm) which is a bit of a give away, but they have tons of red arrows on the streets, the walls etc showing you the way to each one.

My advice, go into the first shop you come across and pick up the free guide book. It has EVERY shop in it, a wee picture of the store and text (in German only) but you can work out roughly whether its male/female clothes or furniture etc.

DO NOT MISS the store called BORD. http://www.brightcove.tv/title.jsp?title=1556197991 This is my most favourite place, Conny and Oliver are really great people and they have some wicked bits both new and vintage for sale.

Well, I think there's a bit of Sunday shopping available if you live around Interlaken! Apparently, Eurospar (a bigger version of Spar shops) is open from 11-5pm Sundays here: http://www.eurospar.ch/standort.html# (click on Interlaken)

So if you find yourself walking in the Bernese Oberland and fancied buying some meat, now you can!

Thanks archersam, Sunday was sensational. All the groovy red arrows pointing to shops I would never have known were there.

Unfortunately, I do not think that my credit card is as grateful

Hey Natasha,

You are welcome. The shops were so friendly and accomodating, I mean complimentay proseco, red wine, cheese, salami etc etc oh and them chewy sweets.

If anyone fancies an interesting tour of some great shops on a Saturday go to the website and download the map(s) it gives you a nice bit of structure as some are off the beaten track!

Oh and I also found Lilli's on Langstrasse which was great, and just like Wagamamas back home it had edamame on the menu. mmm mmm

I managed to pick up the book with the maps and descriptions. I will be hitting a different area of it this weekend as I was mainly on the Stauffacher side.

And yes, Lilly's is the awesome.

Yes Lilli's was a great find and will make it to my new list of favourite places to have hangover food. Have to say I like the Langstrasse area a lot more than other parts of the city! Not sure what that says about me but then I prefer East to West/Central London.

Sad as it is but I planned it with precision. I reviewed the book at home and worked out (with my poor German) which shops only sold womens clothes then crossed them off my map! I then managed to do every shop in the book over the 2 afternoons, I even wandered over to Freitag and Borgen 33 (a really really cool and reasonable priced Brockli place).

This weekend I am off to sunny England for the Bank Holiday
