Hoping someone can help with a fairly straightforward question on the dynamics of the swiss integration interview that is required as part of the naturalization process.
I am married to a Swiss citizen and have lived in Ticino for the past 5+ years (have C permit, have required Italian language level etc).
My wife just got a new job in Zurich and we hope to move early in the New Year. I hope to begin the simplified naturalization process from next May.
My question is this: I understand that I need to have an interview as part of this process. I would assume that if I live in Zurich I would have to do it in the language of the canton (German). Or are there exemptions / are you able to choose the language? As I already have Italian to B1 it would be much more helpful for me to do this interview in Italian. I am unlikely to get to that level in German before I start the process.
Does anyone know if it is possible to do the interview in one of the official languages other than the one generally spoken in the canton you are living in?
