Singapore Expat good forum?

Hi!

Totally OT but have been searching for a forum similar to this one in Singapore and there are many so was wondering if anyone lived there and can suggest the best one?

We are toying with the idea of relocating there and I would like to find a bit of basic infos before moving further with employers.

THANKS for help!

Cheers,

K

Thanks

Sure: Have moved to Singapore a year and a half ago... and the only reason to log back into this site here is because the local forums are all crap. You will find some basic info on singaporeexpats.com and similar - but you will not find a community half as active as in Zurich. This sounds strange, but the simple truth is: in Singapore does everyone speak English, so a forum for English speaking expats makes not as much sense as in CH...

I am so glad you say that !!!! In the sense that I had the same feeling looking at those forums but I thought I was suffering from "my forum is better than yours" syndrome

I will send you a PM if you do not mind wiht some basic Q

Thanks for your answer!

treverus pretty much summed it up. if you need advice on moving here you can PM me. otherwise here are some links :

http://www.singaporum.com - not as active as some other sites and it's not commercial (ie. not trying to sell anything) but most of the posters are long-time expats in Singapore and can give some great advice.

We have been on two postings in Singapore, although the island is now extremely crowded (lots of immigrants from India and mainland China) but overall we enjoyed Singapore....however one does get 'island fever' but it's a fantastic base to explore other neighbouring countries and to travel Down Under easily . Happy to try and help with your questions.
