Size of IKEA package

I'm currently finishing IKEA buying list, and I'd like to find out the volume very much so that I can estimate what van to hire. It says I've loaded around 100 packages. How big is actually the package ?

Well, you could have a hundred light bulbs - or twenty beds, twenty couches, twenty full sized clothing cabinets, twenty kitchen tables, twenty chairs and twenty light bulbs...

What I am getting at... is... it depends on what your purchases are. Does the website not give you the volume of the individual articles purchased? May have to do some math.

Sounds like quite a shopping spree

Just moving to new empty house ))) OK, somehow it says precisely weight, but nothing about size of packed furniture (not in the buiyng list), so yeah, big math night is my choice...

Maybe if you post your list here people with more Ikea experience than I can help you better. Plus, we will then know what your new house will be filled with

An idea... hire a man with a van - give them the list and ask them to deliver.

Package sizes are given on a product's information page on the Ikea website.

For example, a Billy bookcase:

Package measurement and weight

Packages: 1

Article Number : 836.882.10

Width : 78 cm

Height : 5 cm

Length : 205 cm

Weight : 39.1 kg

Quantity 1

What you are need to be aware of is total weight of the items which must not exceed the payload of the van.

I'm sure it would not be a problem for you unless you are buying 100 pieces of MDF furniture but as an example, 50 Billy bookcases would overload the average van.

If you're buying that much stuff, enter the data into a spreadsheet and let it do the math for you. Include dimensions and weight to get a sense of how large a truck you're going to need (and therefore how many more chuffs it's going to cost to deliver).

If it is a problem you may find the (theoretical) solution on this page . Oh, and here some working code .
