I could quite imagine their being rules over here in Switzerland... my son is hell bent on acquiring one.
I am not sure I’d want to share a ski slope with people screaming down past me on one.
Hello - does any one know of any rules around whether ski biking (as shown on ski bike.com) is allow or banned in ski resorts?
Haven't heard of them being banned anywhere around me....Pizol certainly allows/encourages them, there's a German ski bike club that have a meet-up there every season. Pretty sure I've seen them in Flums as well.
You could ask the resort directly, by calling or sending them an email.
Here is the list of resorts that confirmed to me last month that ski bikes are allowed (with a safety leash connected to body)
- Sörenberg (actually you could rent ski bikes there, no body leash required, check their website). It was not possible to ride cabin gondola with skibike, because it didn’t fit inside, chairlifts were ok!
- Hoch-Ybrig
- Davos (beginners not tolerated - they said)
- Andermatt resorts
I heard that in Lenzerheide-Arosa they are restricted, but I haven’t asked the resort yet.

Ski bikes are lethal to others on the piste and their riders. They are sold to idiots with numb ar5es who can neither ski nor snowboard...
Speed isn’t dangerous, it’s the difference in speed that kills and injures. Be it the motorway or the piste.
Only until you lose control. Which is guaranteed in case of a crash on a piste.
As for the ski bikes - make sure you have a very very strong back. Sitting, you have no legs in use to dampen the blows from the ground, springs can only go so far and are far from ideal when compared to your legs.
