Sleeping under a full moon

Normally I go out like a light. zzzzzzzzz

Last night I had a lot of difficulty sleeping and upon getting to work, found out a lot of other folk had the same issue!

Did anyone else have the same problem ?

And

Can someone simplify an explanation as to why this happens please?

Welcome to Switzerland. Sleeping problems happen under a full moon and when the föhn is going. It's been like this for centuries.

Unfortunately, I can't explain why either.

It's a bit cold out for that sort of thing; perhaps you woke up when it started snowing?

I actually had a brilliant sleep, I even woke up early and fresh. Nothing to do with the whisky last nite or the early nature's call this morning.

Yes full moon does have effects on us, as 65-75% (depending on the ratio of beer intake and those never ending pees') of human body consists of water, and full moon does cause a rise in tides. To feel the effects more profoundly, I would suggest to get a water bed, you can actually feel it lavitating on full moon nights.

Especially because you are in Switzerland, higher altitudes and surrounded by lakes and underground reservoirs and all that. If your senses are nto sharp enough to sense that, then smoke a pot.

Wow what an explanation, it made me chuckle.

The only reasonable explanation is that you're a Werewolf.

I also slept terribly the last two nights while I normally don't have any issues. I do not think it can be the snow: At my place did it snow from 21.00 onwards or so and the snow does not make any noise I can hear.

I sleep badly just before / during snow AND full moons. This night I was awake with serious anxiety as of 3 am, not pleasant.

First I shrink ze moon, then I grab ze moon, then... I sit on the toilet bowl....

I don't know about other countries, but here it's very common to accuse the moon when you have problems sleeping.

It's also very common for gardeners and farmers to plant crops and seeds depending on the phases of the moon. Some people also looked at the moon cycles before having a haircut, to ensure quicker or slower growth.

It also seems that more babies are born during a full moon, go figure.

I used to be a werewolf.........

But I'm alright nowoooooooooooooo

Saying that I half expected the better half to be torn to shreds besides me in the bed this morning

Amazing. My other half and I had a restless night, too. Thought it was because I was worrying about the dog's upcoming accommodation. Don't know about his reasons.

Well, the moon. That explains it. Checked my fangs and hair growth this morning though - seem to be OK.

I slept fine last night ( could have been the three vodka-tonics and half a bottle of wine ) but mrs. G was restless... tossing and turning all night.

Same for hubby and daughter. I was sleeping well until she came in our bed, both were tossing and turning so I end up doing the same...

Lightbulb!

Did anyone else spot the "Bank of Evil (formerly Lehman Brothers)" sign when Gru goes to ask for his evil loan? Love it!

Probably the Lunar effect

Ever wonder where the word Lunacy comes from ?

I haven't smoked a pot in years.

Fnarr, fnarr ......

I worked night shift in a home for refugees for nearly 6 years and could guarantee on the night of the full moon and the night before there would be problems, fighting, squabbling coming and going at all hours and generally electrically charged atmosphere. Night or two after the full moon however everyone seemed to go to bed early, and at midnight the home was perfectly quiet and peaceful. I experienced this too many times for it to be coincidence and so do think there is a connection between full moon and sleep patterns
