I found the attached card/flyer landed in my letter box today and i was wondering if it's legit or a scam.
I can't find anything online, google gives no more info whatsoever. I don't mind companies with VAT, sites etc. promoting themselves with leaflets, but then again, selling a car to a private person is normal - what is not normal is that individual handing around such cards as a company.
Needless to say that i'm planning to sell my car, so that feels a bit weird. I mean, we all know google/facebook etc spaming ads right after you looked at something even for a milisec, but this... unless my home is wiretapped ...
As a sidenote, i think most people here recommend Autoscout24 for selling. Any other options? (The car is a Golf VII)
Most if the time these guys try to buy the cars for pennies and export them to Eastern Europe. I have seen plenty of cars with these kind of business card on there windshields, mainly on large car parks.
Autoscout is OK. But be ready to get bombarded with loads of low ball offers. Most of the guys who put these kinds of business cards sweep through Autoscout for private sellers too.
They’ll ask you how much you want, then ask to come and see it. Make you an offer and you take it or leave it. although I did get them to round it up a little. If you agree they will arrange a time to pick up the car. In my case they arrived with U plates. I signed a bill of sale, they handed over the cash then drove off.
They didn’t want the winter tires, but I just left them in the trunk.
