SMS Verification?

I just signed up on this Switzerland website (for houses) that requires an SMS verification, can anyone please do it for me? It requires a Swiss number which I do not have, and so I need someone to verify the SMS for me so I can look at houses I'm interested in.

Thanks!

Sounds a bit obvious to me... buy a Swiss pay as you go sim for 10chf that you can use this time and in future? Doesn't seem so complicated or expensive, and I would rather do that than inconvenience someone else to the extent that I have to get a complete strangers telephone number...

Where do I buy it online? I'm not in Switzerland yet so I can't buy SIMs from there.

Your location says Zurich, so what do you expect people to suggest? If you are in the UK then simply say so. Basic common sense...

Sorry, I just made an introduction thread that said I haven't moved yet. Zurich is where I want to live in the future.

First off, unless it's someone you know personally, why would anyone take the risk? It's intended to verify your identity, so they clearly want to do so for a reason. It might even be illegal to do this, I don't know.

Secondly, why don't you just email them and explain? An email verification would normally be sufficient.

Oh, and are you sure it needs a Swiss number? I recall using French or UK ones (in CH) in the past with no problems.

It isn't illegal, but it wants me to verify my number so I can register. I tried to e-mail them but they haven't responded (74 hours and counting).

I believe this is for some sort of 2 FACTOR AUTHENTICATION or something.

some introduction!

Hi guys, I'm interested in moving to Switzerland so I registered here for more info.

still no idea of your present location?

So sorry, I posted on my other thread now.

Why not change your location to avoid confusion. Not everyone is going to be reading your introductory post.

Is that "Aurora" as in "Chasing the Aurora?"

Haha, I love the northern lights, but having the username Northern Lights sucks, so I use Aurora instead. I'll update it right now.

Try comparis.ch ; fairly free to look for and at whatever you fancy.

What will you do in Switzerland, you know, to keep from getting bored? Or put another way, how will you convince them to even let you in?

Unless you're from a Schengen/EU country, course.

Aurora, what you need to know is that in Switzerland, we do not have burnphones. All our phones are registered to your names and tied into our personal accounts.

What exactly are you trying to do? Like, which site do you want to sign up with, because I have signed up for a number of flat-hunting services in the past and none of them needed SMS verification.

It's this site called Craigslist, it's asking for verification for my post on looking to rent!

Try homegate..

http://www.homegate.ch/

You probably know that in a 2 Factor Auth you would receive a passcode via SMS, so any valid mobile number should do.

On the other hand, I wasable search for houses on homegate.ch without having to register, so maybe you can skip this.

It has been said many times on this forum (and experienced first hand by me not earlier than 2 months ago) that obtaining a lease in ZH (area) without actually being there is next to impossible.

Whilst we're at it, I need access to a UK credit card, to set up a UK iTunes account .... can you help, and just let me know your details?

I'll be up front, too: although my location is given as Fribourg (CH), I'm not there yet, and am writing from Lagos.

Dude, it's just a number for Craigslist. I don't see what the harm is. I'm not asking for your credit card numbers here guys.

Wow, thanks. That's much better than Craigslist or whatever it's called. I'll look around on there instead. Thanks for the help. SMS verification no longer needed!
