Snow Chains - where to buy

I'm highly considering buying a pair of snow chains.

Is there a recommended place to purchase them from here in Zurich?

OR maybe a website that I can have them delivered to my home?

OR - is it smart of me to go to DE/Austria/France to pick a nice pair.

New and used snow chains are available on Ricardo:

Just google "schneeketten kaufen" and take it from there. Check first that they fit your make/model of wheels.

We've had a set of snow chains gathering dust in the boot for donkey's years but have never had to use them up to now. We've driven in the mountains in the height of winter and the winter tyres have always been enough because they nearly always clear the roads efficiently on most main routes.

And always practice fitting them before you need to put them on!

Not only must you always have a go at fitting them while safely sitting on your drive or in the street, you should also not bother with anything other than the most basic - in my experience, the basic works fine, and any other designs that are supposed to make things easier, don't.

I have a pair of unused chains, still in original packing, that I bought a couple of years back for Fr 175. Migros quick fit model.

They will fit tyre dimensions: 205/65, 195/75, 195/70, 195/65, 175/75

I will let them go for Fr 80.

PM if interested.

Also, be sure that you are allowed to use chains with your tire/wheel combo, many vehicles require smaller tires/wheels when used with chains due to clearance issues.

+1 as I got to know it the hard way.
