Social games, dinner games team games

Hi there eveyone,

I'd like to gather a few social games for social gatherings, like ice breakers and after dinner games and picnic games etc. I am very fond of fun and games but not so motivated by things like chess and card games , i just loose my interest in no time, unfortunate for my partner . So far i always have had great people knowing great games and never really had the need to write it down now here i am starting a new . I would really appreciate if you know something that is fun to play, anything really lets see the party animals

Erm... no one?

How well do you know your guests? How many? How old?

I could suggest anything from Twister to Pictionary but if they are dinner guests in their 70's the Twister will probably be out.

Wii is quite funny when you have had a drink (or at least watching the people boxing etc is very funny) - you also have things like Who wants to be a millionaire and you can split people into teams

Simple games are charades (you have to mime something that your team have to guess), twister, board games...

Another game we have played when skiing though have no idea what its called... you get each person to write down 3 names and they all go in a hat (need at least 6 people). These get mixed up and each person pulls one from a hat and you have a certain time for a round. First round you have to mime these, 2nd round 3 words to describe them, final round one word. Winner is the team with the most correct guesses in the time.... was funny when we played it after lots of wine.........

Lots of card games and things like poker but you don't want those

Lots of alcohol make these games work...

Thanks Sharon,

I like the hat game definately will try that. I am just interested in whacky fun games.

Post-it note on each others forehead with a famous person's name written on it. The wearer of the post-it note doesn't know the name written on their forehead but have to ask the other guests questions about themselves.

Object is to find out who you are.

I wish I had the time. I could use extra doses of Humor.

i've found playing 'soggy biscuit' is always a good ice-breaker

I'd like to play getting the biscuit soggy.....oh matron
