I really hope I can have some help here. Can someone in the know please advise an "average" salary for a software engineer, dealing in robotics, with 15 years experience who was headhunted to join a very large well known international company in Lucerne area. The position is managerial and he is required to travel to various places, England, Sweden, Germany etc. Also, could I get a comparision of salaries in Switzerland. Ballpark figures fine. Salaries for a range of jobs ie McDonalds employee, teacher salary, bartender salary, factory worker salary. thank you
Thank you. No it's not that company. I will have a look at those two sites. Appreciate you replying so quickly.
No worries, it was just luck, I haven't been on this site in ages. But I am a kiwi living in luzern and working as a sw developer, so I just had to reply.
I had no luck with those sites. One I couldn't read. Are you able to give me an average based on your experience or knowledge?
Sure thing:
So I have a uni degree in comp sci, im 29, been doing sw development commercially for at least 8 years, and am currently in a senior software development role. The lohnrechner.ch site gives me a ball park figure of ca. 7,500-9,500 CHF per month. Which is about right.
Remeber most companies pay 13 times, not 12 times a year. Go figure its Switzerland.
Hope this helps.
Gosh thank you that is very kind. This person is claiming he earns around CHF60,000/annum. He is now saying he's not employed as a software engineer but working with Relay Logic in Machine Automation. Do you think this low salary is viable/true.
Thats not really my area, working with embedded systems is alot more low level development compared to what I am doing. But it really comes down to what he is doing with the relay logic and what his qualifications are. Is he Designing and/or programming them, or just plugging in finished logical systems?
But I would say that if the job requires the application of knowledge acquired at a tertiary level in any field of engineering, then 60K is low.
Experienced senior embedded software engineer, none or little management role, in the telecom and machine industry - the numbers 7.5-9.5 look like what I heard about.
Pier,
We are recruiting SW robotics people at the moment. Why don't you PM me your CV and I can see if your skills match our requirements.
We are a small company based in the Luzern area.
Thanks
Mike
Chiwi - I can't pm you for some reason (have to wait 1043hours apparently). Just wanted to thank you so much. Info absolutely perfect!!! Will pm when I can.
