Dear all,
Now I am doing my internship in Winterthur, and I have to join a health insurance company in Switzerland.
Now I am considering between Swisscare and SOS Evasan SA.
I think they are quite similar because they are all foreign companies.
I could find some information about Swisscare but no information about SOS Evasan SA.
The reason I prefer SOS Evasan SA is their cheapest student option is 69 CHF per month and deductible is 500 CHF.
Swisscare is 65 CHF per month and 1000 deductible.
But for my final decision, I would like to know more reputation for both companies, so if someone have experience with them, please share here and thank you in advance
Welcome to the Forum.
As you posted this after 11 p.m. on a Saturday, odds are no one has seen it yet - so have a bump.
Thank you
And if someone have experience with Evasan, doesn't matter what kind of insurance, please share here
Are you sure your insurance with them is accepted as mandatory health insurance? Is your internship seen as equivalent to a study?
The insurers want to sell, their promises may not hold. Personally I'd ask the authorities before signing anything, especially if you're just arrived (AFAIK you have three months to sign up).
Hello, indeed I asked at first Evasan and they recommended me to ask the authority, and then I asked the one who sent me the rejection for exemption, she said if the company they sign the form A(the form to show the coverage of the insurance), then Kanton Zurich accept it.
It is a quite long story for me..now I am studying and holding the public insurance from Germany, but Kanton Zurich does not accept it because I have income for my internship. They asked me to choose one company in Switzerland to join.
Anyway, your advice is quite right. That is why I am asking here, if someone have experience with their student insurance. Although the authority said they will accept with form A and company also said they will sign for that, I still hope I could get some information who has successfully subscribe it and make the exemption.
Thank you for your advice and I will keep searching for more information and make my decision
Also, I asked Evasan can I cancel my subscription if Kanton Zurich does not accept my health insurance and they said yes.
I wonder in Switzerland it is right or just they want me to buy so they said yes
Yes, you can cancel every year. But whether you can cancel if the insurance is not acceptable is a different story......
Do get that in writing, preferably directly on the contract, and have your counterpart explicitly sign that adition (you want to countersign). It could read something like
"Diese Anmeldung ist nur gültig, falls die Versicherung durch die zuständige Behörde als obligatorische Krankenversicherung anerkannt wird."
"This application isn't valid unless the responsible authority accepts this insurance as mandatory health insurance."
You probably want to make sure you don't add any non-mandatory parts as (I take it) cost should be as low as possible. If in doubt you could upload an anonymised scan on here before you sign (demand a few days to sleep over it), members will definitely be happy to check and advise.
Thank you everyone for your kind information.
I am here to update the latest information for the health insurance.
Kanton Zurich accepts my health insurance from SOS Evasan SA.
The general condition from this company almost fits form A from Kanton Zurich, the exception is only regarding optics what is acceptable.
So for my case my exemption is accepted
