Speed cameras / radar

Is there such a thing as Black BMW Derangement Syndrome?

Why, do you think you’ve got it?

Being serious for a second, there are reports, and news articles of the aggressive and threatening driving behaviour of BMW drivers on at least three continents.

It’s not something I’m making up. Google it rather than making moronic comments.

People thought it wrong (Roegner for one) to make jokes in the suicide thread but it hasn’t occurred to them that suicide is a choice (albeit a terrible one) but being mown down and maimed and killed by someone who’s skills don’t match their ego is hardly something people choose.
But apparently it’s a laughing matter and here’s Roegner (a moderator) liking your joke.

On substance, most people here are probably quite close to your views on traffic behaviour. It is your unbearable moralizing and complete lack of humor that annoys many.

I wouldn’t be so sure.

Unless you were joking earlier, you said you were replying to a thread whilst driving your car. A practice now causing more accidents than driving under the influence of alcohol.

Someone else wrote that they tail-gated in order to get people to move out of their way.

Someone else wrote that if cyclists get in the way, or slow down ‘traffic’, they deserve to be frightened by close-passing.

Many appear to believe that cyclists are the biggest danger on the road. Indeed when I mentioned some statistic about injures to cyclists car drivers someone countered that with “but cyclists go through red lights”
Completely illogical but not uncommon.

You got completely triggered when I made a joke about gorillas and penis size and the fact that some drivers are probably overcompensating for something when they drive aggressively.
You are also get completely triggered when I mention the word BMW.

Where’s your sense of humor? When did you last write something remotely amusing?

Thank you for proving my point. Again.

Your point was:

On substance, most people here are probably quite close to your views on traffic behaviour.

I’m disagreeing with you and giving reasons why.

I wrote on the other thread that my family and I almost got wiped out by a c*nt in a BMW SUV driving on the wrong side of the road, towards us with a combined closing speed of around 160Km/h. He was looking down at his phone and looked up and swerved to his side of the road at the last minute.

Was this supposed to be a joke or is that the sort of person you are but feel the need to criticize other people’s attitudes to driving?

I think ‘most annoying’ or ‘most entitled’ fits most people’s beliefs more closely.

and, rather than or, in particular the Gümmeler (lycras).

Does that include you in people who are annoyed? I expect so.

Actually, ignore that. This thread is about speeding and radar.

You ought to start your own thread explaining why you think people shouldn’t wear clothing appropriate to their sport.

You could include:

  • skiing
  • Karate
  • Swimming
  • Deep sea diving

HTH

I disagree with komsomolez, your post is hilarious.

A 26 year old driver wrote off his BMW M3, losing control on a corner in a town in the early hours of this morning.

The car was practically new but is now a write-off.

He probably skidded on oil or had a medical episode which caused him to lose control.

I’m not entirely sure how this post is relevant to this thread.

Maybe we should have a separate thread dedicated to all BMW related incidents.

It’s pretty obvious that he was going to fast for his driving abilities in a high-performance car.

Luckily it was in the night and not when the pavement may have been full of people.

This is in response to @komsomolez who says “most people here are probably quite close to your views on traffic behaviour” but then is quite happy to text at the wheel which not only causes more bad accidents than drink driving but is illegal.

Speed cameras are a great idea. We should have more of them.

As for it being a BMW - are you wanting to go down the route of censoring posts so nationality, for example, or in this case car brand does not get mentioned in case it offends?

Drinking and texting at the wheel are not mutually exclusive.

I favour ‘censoring’ it as it is completely off-topic for a thread “Speed cameras / Radar”.

From the photo there is nothing to suggest that excessive speed was involved. It may have been, but it may not have been.

TBH, it looks a lot like the current generation M3 Touring (G81), a family wagon. M3 Touring, Audi RS4 Avant, Quite popular models in low density towns with single unit houses.

Just out of curiosity, how do you feel about Lamborghini?

Can you at least try and be a little consistent?

You didn’t call out Roxi for bringing up cyclists wearing lycra a few posts up?

Are you a junior-moderator in training?

Can you try and think just a little before posting.

Check list:

  • High Performance Sports car
  • New to the driver
  • Middle of the night
  • Young male driver

Do you really think it’s more likely they lost control on a corner when going to fast or something like a thrombosis?

I appreciate that you are more in the “but cyclists go through red lights…” and “cyclists are the greatest danger to life on the road” camp from your previous rants but still…

Is a report of someone speeding relevant to a speeding / radar thread?

Probably not if you detest them but as hard as you may find it to believe, I’m in all in favour of speed cameras and don’t have a problem with them.

Please put me on your ignore list which you seem to mention every third post.

Irrelevant to this thread but Belgianmum won’t call you out on it.

It wasn’t a ‘report’ it was another random photo from your ghoulish collection of car accidents.

You said you weren’t going to reply to my posts any more.

Did you not read that it happened last night.

The report was in German. If I had put that up then I would have had a moderator complaining that it wasn’t English.

But here you go:

I’m not going to report your post but it was way off and not what I would expect from a junior moderator.
I bet none of your fellow moderators call you out on it either.
