Speed control at the Border

I am sure there used to be 20 Km/h signs at Swiss border crossings into Germany but they seem to have disappeared at the border crossings that I often use.

These 20 signs are still there when approaching from the German side; also at places where there is some distance between the Swiss & German controls (like a bridge) there are now 20 Km/h signs on the Swiss side of the German controls.

Am I dreaming or did they change the rules? Anybody know?

Hi,

Which DE/CH Border? The Schaffhausen one, Basel one, or?

Haven't paid attention but will surely do next time.

T

I usually use smaller ones along the Rhine like Zurzach, Koblenz, Kaiserstuhl, etc.

Maybe they just took the signs away for a late Spring clean

or hoping people will exit quicker?

Sorry, they did not change the rules. I was there yesterday, having to drive the 20km/h.

I'm certain the 20 km/h speed limit, if present, isn't enforced. I've never known the Swiss to be backward in issuing fines and I've never had one when travelling across the border. I just go with the flow, which seems to be at around 40 km/h at some crossings.

I suggest to drive as fast as possible thru the border and see if you can be faster than the bullets of the swiss and/or german cops

Considering you're in Canton Aargau, such driving antics would not attract too much attention.

Where is there?
