Speeding/red light fine?

Got a fine today from over a month ago..... I am a bit puzzled by it as I always take the same route home. Could anyone shed any light on the matter? Will the police give any further "proof" or information as to the issue?

306. 1 Widerhandlung gegen die Einspurordnung durch Miss

achten des markierten Richtungspfeils (Art. 27 Abs. 1 SVG

und Art. 74 Abs. 2 SSV)

You didn't follow the signs on the road. For example, the lane has an arrow to the right and you went straight ahead.

Going the wrong way down a one way street?

This is the coordinates. I always turn right here, every time without fail. And definitely 100% did not go through it on red. I am very familiar with this road.

Art. 27.1 say this:

Art. 74.2

Does it makes any sense for the place?

There is two lanes, one which goes straight ahead (which I have never gone, must be slave to habit!) and one which turns right. I always take this one and you are fed into that lane from the lake so I really cannot see what I have done wrong!

Coming from where?

It could be that it was actually a red light offence (CHF 250) and you were lucky and it was downgraded to the CHF 100 wrong lane offence.

Could also be that they made an mistake and you did nothing wrong.

Police will not provide any additional proof of the offense. However, after you pay the fine, you can request the photos to be sent to you. If you see that you have not done anything wrong, you can appeal and they will reimburse the fine (if indeed you did nothing wrong).

Also, traffic flow at/around General-Guisan-Quai / Mythenquai has been changed significantly due to renovations and addition of the bike lane. You might have driven by habit as you always do, which might not be allowed with the construction works.

This is the limbo I find myself in. Try and contest and end up with something more serious or pay for something that I really do not think I have done.

Is it possible to ring up somewhere and ask for proof or something?

No they won’t. Once you paid the fine it becomes final and you cannot contest it anymore. VERY BAD ADVICE.

Art. 27 SVG (not SSV !!!)
1 Signals and markings as well as the instructions of the police must be followed. The signals and markings take precedence over the general rules, the instructions of the police over the general rules, signals and markings.

You are still in the same dilemma. Once they pull up the photo and look closer to it you risk the higher fine or if lucky let of the hook.
To do so you can contact the Zentralstelle für Verkehrs- und Ordnungsbussen you can do this by mail, in person, or online .

Attention: If you fully contest it, it might go to a prosecutor, which next to the fine could also mean court fees. If you do it, it might be easiest if done in person.

Thank you for posting that, really appreciated the effort. I will go and see them and see if I can strike up a conversation.

thanks!

Actually when you contact them, they will tell you exactly what I wrote - pay the fine, request the photo. Got my red light CHF250 back by following the advice. Curious what they say to clumsy :-)
