Spinning Shoes

I am desperately trying to buy spinning shoes (in door cycling) in Zurich but none of the stores have any. Has anyone else had the same problem? If yes, where did you end up buying your spinning shoes from?

thanks

nels

Spinning shoes are just normal cleated cycling shoes. You will find them in any bike shop. See the thread below for some hints near Zürich:

I'm not certain which type of cleats you will need but most likely they are compatible with the Shimano SPD system. Ask your gym to confirm.

Hi Nels

You can use regular cleated cycling shoes for spinning - I bought mine from Athleticum with Shimano cleats. Be aware though that the cleats are often not included with the shoes so you need to buy these seperately.

Not all cycling cleats are the same so make sure to ask your spinning instructor before you buy.

It could be Shimano SPD (often used for mountain bikes)

Look Delta or Look Keo

Or Shimano's "look copy" the SPD SL

This website looks like an awful throwback from the 80's but Sheldon Brown (now sadly deceased) is considered a dictionary on all things bike!

You will see in the image halfway down the page that you can get shoes that are easier to walk in when you are off the bike, worth considering.

All the spinning bikes I have ever used, have used the SPD system. I suggest MTB shoes, so you can walk around the gym before and after the class.
