Sssssoo cccold!

I am freezing, it hasn’t stopped raining for the entire last week, last night I looked and had 9 degrees outside, NINE. I shivered untill I got up fired up the hot water bottle. donned my comfy pants and pullover and socks and went back to bed.
Today wasnt any better and I have put the heating on for rhe first time in my new digs and the first time ever in August.
Am now wrapped with my hands around a cup of bovril.
Stupid summer 2025!

Tomorrow it will be better. My guests are leaving tomorrow and it will be sunny again. It was their fault that it rained last two weeks.
Great summer in Switzerland

Not the last two weeks though.

I know exactly what you mean, I’ve been freezing for a week now to a point where only long hot showers would help for a little while (just had one of those). I could live with the rain but the cold is a pita.
My landlord mentioned the heating is on (in the old days they just turned it off completly during summer) so I turned it on in my flat too. But it’s floor heating, no quick relieve.
Never heard of bovril, went and checked it out. Found a “new” online shop - will take that over to the other thread.

A couple of weeks ago, I had to switch to long trousers (jeans), and I see no immediate prospect of changing back.

It looks like Tuesday may be warmer

Remember summer 2016?? We had July snow from Scandinavia and non-stop rain!

a couple of weeks ago they claimed August will be an extremly hot month.
In Shah Allah.

I can’t cope very well with heatwaves but this is a bit chilly even for me. I had to resort to wearing socks today.

It’s a relief.

We were lucky with the heatwave at the end of June. I went hiking, rode the bike, drove with the car open. My skin adapted to the Sun and I thought I had adapted to the heat…I went for vacation to a truly hot place and I was fine up to 35°C. One 42°C afternoon arrived. I did what I wanted to do that day, but not the happiest hours.

Back to Switzerland around 20C and rain. My cheap thermometer says 14°C now. I have not closed the balcony door since I arrived last Wednesday. It feels great to sleep covered.

I keep the window open over the bed until it reaches around 5C outside. Then it’s tilted until freezing temps set in.

We have the window open in the bedroom all year round.
Tilted in winter and wide open in summer, I like a nice coll bedroom for sleeping.

I swear that living on Malta reconfigured how I feel cold and hot.
Recently I found it rather nice when the temperature went over 30° and Germany thawed out a bit and everybody around me was bitching about “The Heat” but come 20° cold and I have the hot warterbottle at operating temperature.

People adapt to the heat or the cold.

When camping in winter, the first couple of days are really difficult but then you get much more used to it.

It’s the same with the heat.

I’m the same. 23°C are cold to me. 30°C is lovely.

Maxbe, but my bar as what constitutes hot or cold certainly shifted.
By the way, it is streaming down outside.

23°C is lovely to me 30°C is hell.

Well dont go to Malta at rhe hight of summer, 30° is nice when it cools down to that at night.
