Steak House - Where?

Where is the "best" steak house in Switzerland?

Rolli's steak house in Oerlikon, Schaffhauserstrasse 352, 8050 Oerlikon, tel nr 0443112880. Take tram 14 or 11 direction Oerlikon and the stop is Sternen Oerlikon. the restaurant is right there.

Stay away from Churrasco (Argentinian Steak House in Zurich), awful food and terrible service.

Thanks...

Yeah, there is a Churrasco here in Lausanne. Walked past it several times, but it does not look nice.

The same also goes for the Buffalo Grill in Crissier. I went there once, ordered and was served a microwave steak meal... not what I had expected.

What about the Beef Club?

I actually really liked it there, very expensive though.

Well.. I don't mind paying a bit extra.. since my gf (now fiance) and I have our 5 year anniversary and she really like a good steak... so...

hmmm.. do they have "Beef Club" in Lausanne or Vaud?

Found it: http://www.moevenpick-gastronomy.com...de/Welcome.htm

Although looking at the menu, its quite expensive... Has anyone here tried this place in Geneva?

This one in Oerlikon is really good. The prices are not cheap though.

Well Moevenpick is a chain, so the standard should be the same.

I love it!!!

looking more at more at the Geneva Beef House, my mouth is already dripping...

but, does Rolli's have a website or a menu online somewhere?

LoyalRoyal recommends les Trois Rois in Lausanne for steak. I'm not sure if they have a website, but they're just below the train station so you could probably stop by there to check out the menu. It's not expensive, but I've heard the food is great.

Rue du Simplon 7 Lausanne.

Anything near Locarno?

Not an expert, but I really enjoyed a steak from the restaurant underneath the Central Hotel in Zürich, more info and menu on their website

What about in Basel area? or in Lörrach Germany besides Gaucho in Marktplatz?

thanks

I have been there many times and the food there is really excellent. I have never been disappointed. The _only_ downside is that the waiters are students for the hotel schools, so they mess up once in a while, like drop a plate at least once per evening. But, they always give their best.

The menu has never really changed over the past 1.5 years I have going there, but they of course always have the seasonal specialties.

The Baren in Zug is spot on, cooked on a hot stone in front of you.....yummmm The decor would'nt float Linda Barkers boat, and it's shut at weekends , but the nosebag is great.

Don Carlos, in the Niederdorf, serves good Argentinian steak in a nice setting.

Churrasco I definitely NOT recommend

Have heard about a new place in ZH...Ojo de Agua. Serves argentinian beef and supposed to be quite something. Anyone tried it yet? Up near Rennweg I think.

Seeing as this seems to be far slung, I can recommend the meat in the Marco Polo in adler which is in Bad Säckingen. www.marco-polo.es

By the way I have absolutely no idea why it has a spanish domain address but there you go...

They also do Bison which is something different. Note I am only recommending the meat as the ambience leaves a bit to be desired, reminds me of pizza hut
