Anyone using these streaming sticks in Switzerland? Do they work well?
I using Amazon's Fire Stick in combination with my projector and it works for what I need it: Arte and Netflix apps for streaming and Plex for my archive that is on my NAS
If you know how are you going to use it it is simple to check it by some googling.
We have a Fire TV and an old Chromecast. Chromecast is obviously simple and "works", i.e. casts almost anything you give it to the Screen.
Fire TV we use mainly for NetFlix and some local services, and it works fine. Also recently Prime Video started working in Switzerland. Before, you could only cast from your mobile app using Chromecast.
Hi, yes they work well but if you want geo locked services you will need a vpn or smart DNS service
One thing to note about Chromecast is that they are a nightmare and rarely work in hotels where you need to go through a login screen to use the Wifi (its hit and miss whether or not you will see it). Amazon FireTV works better because you can see and fill out the login details in a browser window, so its more like a computer than a streaming stick.
