Is it a hangover from the past? Something that belongs dead and buried but they dig it up year after year.
~1,000,000 visitors suggest that it’s still reasonably popular. I guess if nobody shows up one year, they’ll scrap it. Until then, you’d better dig out your shiny hot-pants and feather boa and get stuck in, kid.

They suggested that for wars and it never happened.
Unlike war one just stays away from street parade and therefore unaffected. So I suggest OP chooses that option.

Ouch.
The dancing movements they make are the movements I make when I have to take a dump urgently. Could it be that they all need to take a dump? Confused. 
They import the visitors from other countries.

More than 100 smartphones stolen at music festival (Zurich Street Parade) found hidden in tin foil:
Police in Switzerland discovered the iPhone and Samsung devices had all been lost or stolen during Zurich’s Street Parade dance music festival earlier this month.
The stash of 121 phones - including 71 iPhones and 29 Samsung devices - were discovered wrapped in foil packages in a thick blanket in the suspect’s luggage, as he attempted to enter Milan on board a train from Zurich, Switzerland.
Police at customs in Chiasso, Switzerland, discovered the phones had all been lost or stolen during Zurich’s Street Parade dance music festival, which was held in the Swiss city on 10 August.
The suspect - a 40-year-old Romanian national - was arrested at the scene for receiving stolen goods, police said.
