I have a scholarship to study in Lausanne and one in US ,both universities are well ranked .
My question is for the job search visa that is granted for 6 month after graduation in Switzerland ,does non EU graduates have the same right as other residents in securing full time job during that period or they need to go for paper works as this is very important factor in finding a suitable job here and I need to know before deciding.
Hey, indeed once you are graduated you can apply for 6 month job looking permit in Switzerland. And this is not a visa, it's a residence permit L. In theory, with this job-seeking permit, your future employer does not have to proof why they want to hire you, but not a Swiss or EU citizen. So this part is waived. However, your future employer should still make an application and show that hiring you would be a scientific or economic benefit for Switzerland. There is no solid answer what this scientific/economic benefit actually means, it really depends on the position that have applied. But personally, I don't think this is an issue. You still have easier process of getting a work permit, but it will take time, effort and might be stressful. As long as you will find an employer, just let them deal with this. Usually mid and big size companies know how this work, but you can refer to the Art 21. 3 AuG from the labor law.
Moreover, I don't want to be over-positive. I am going through this process now. It is very stressful. If you know a local language that would be very beneficial in this process. More possibilities to find a job, higher credibility for you application. When I applied for my Master studies, I got into the UK and Swiss universities. If I actually knew that it is that hard in Switzerland to find a job after graduation, I would really think twice if this all worth the effort, stress, and health.
Bachelor students are allowed to work 14 hours per week max during uni courses period. And full-time 42-45 hours per week during uni vacations. And I don't remember exactly if you have to wait 6 or 12 months before looking for work as non-EU student.
From these limits you should see bachelor student permits are a bit different to other residence permits. Permits for grad students are another story.
Im referring to master degree related to finance or MBA
Leet suppose a company want to hire me after one year or studies, will there be any problem and is it easier to be hired during my studies or during the 6 month job search visa
Both masters in finance and MBA are general and will not likely give you the best prospects in Switzerland for a job and work permit if you are non-EU. In the US I understand there is a period of 12 or 18 months that you are entitled to work after graduation with a good chance for a permanent job and permit after. I understand the system for all graduates in Germany to be similar. Both the US and Germany may be better choices than Switzerland if your hopes for Switzerland are to get a permit to work after based on graduating from a Swiss university.
