Study Bachelor Degree in Switzerland

Hi everyone,

I'm a 23years old Filipino-Swiss who grew up in Philippines and decided to moved here in Switzerland for the first-time. I'm currently learning Deutsch, just starting in A1 level.

I'm a graduate of an Associate course of Computer Hardware Servicing NCII (Computer Technician) and I attended/pursue it as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering but never finished my degree.

Can anyone help me find a University that teach English Bachelor Courses? I would like to start fresh in any Computer or Electronic related course. And please help me understand how the education works here since I already study college from a foreign country. And as well as the finances, how much will it cost me for the studies?

Thanks in Advance.

That will be difficult as most Bachelors are taught in Swiss languages here, though most Masters will be in English. You would need to be near fluent in a Swiss language (C1) to be able to cope with Bachelor course work.

Welcome to the forum The FHNW offers an English-taught Bachelor's in your field of choice. Good luck with language learning and getting settled.

Hello to my fellow kababayan, if you need any help. You can send me a private message.

Most bachelor degrees are taught in German. And in some instances you need to have your degree recognized.

Check out the ETH, it's a really international school, I'm not sure if they offer your field or whole fields in English but it's a rally renowned school and I've met bunch of people studying there who are definitely not fluent in german! People usually say you need about 2000 swiss francs a month as a student in Zurich to get by, don't know if that would be the same with international tuition fees.

Most universities in Switzerland require C1 language level to study.

You could reach this level in a year if you work hard.

I really appreciate your comments. I already went through the website of the Colleges and Universities that you guys suggested and even email them for inquiry. I also made a further research that brought me to this website https://www.swissuniversities.ch/ , which I found a great deal of information about the universities and admissions. I can see that there are some schools that offers English-taught courses yet they still require minimum German level B2 as most of the modules will be taught in German.

I am so unfortunate about this news. It's been 4 months now since I came here in Switzerland, and still not able to get a job. The truth is I have no unbelievably special skills or genius eccentricities. In all honesty, I just want to be around professionals in the industry and gain as much knowledge as I can. I'm currently learning intensive German, still in A1 level that takes more than 3 months to finish. Well I guess its the language that I really need to learn first and hopefully works and school will follow.

Well you could try searching here and seeing if there are any courses that fit the bill.
