Suit - Blazer - Jacket Alteration

I have lost considerable weight, about 40 lbs since a year

Very happy to get rid of my old clothes and buy new ones.

However, there are few expensive Suit - Jacket, around 500 CHF+ which I do not have the heart to throw away.

Back in my home town, its not an issue to get it altered.

Does any1 know how can I possibly get it altered here in Switzerland. It would be such a help to get those Jacket fitting me all over again while looking like I do not have trouble climbing stairs

I doubt any tailor (in Switzerland) will be able to offer you a economical feasible solution as they have to tweak your suits quite a bit due to your massive weight loss.

I had a few pair of nice pants altered to fit my new slim, tight and extremely nice looking body after loosing about 8 kg.

After the "refitting" they looked like sh!t on me as it looked like there was room for a semi-full diaper at the back. They all went straight into the trash bin.

However, I had them altered in Singapore by two Indian tailors but maybe the Swiss ones but more effort into the job.

All dry cleaners know somebody that does alterations.

You don't say where you live, but there is a good tailor here,

Great, not close to where I live, but I will be going to Bern sometime this week so will check it out.

Thanks a lot for this info.

Be careful tho- I took my jacket in for a fitting (not even a major one, just sleeves and slight bringing in) and the local dry cleaner/tailor buggered it up but good.

Now I am at week 3 of trying to get them to remove the strange sticky-up roll of fabric between my shoulderblades.

Makes me miss my tailor in Shanghai

U bet, the asian counterparts, especially in Mainland and Hongkong are just too good. I once was in HK for a business trip and wondered if I can ask for the guy to stitch me a suit in 10 hours coz I was leaving the country and 9 hours later, he was calling my hotel to let me know I can pick it up.

I recommend him to any1 who is in HK, he knows his stuff and works real fast and accurate.

Here, I am going to make it as sure as I can that it is not going to mess the Jacket up, I rather wait 6 months to go back home and fix it rather than keep my fingers crossed the whole time.
