Sunblind/Awning repair - recommendations Zurich/Zug/Affoltern a.A

We need to have our sunblinds/awnings repaired and wanted to know if anyone has any recommendations.

Like this type: https://goo.gl/images/xoW9NN

The stitching on the panels has gone, but so far no damage to the actual panels.

Looking for a suitable company who can restich them. They will need to be removed and transported for repair (which I could probably carry out myself).

Thanks for any recommendations in advance.

Contacted the following companies:

frego.ch

profistora.ch

Had a prompt reply from Frego, but they say you have to replace the cloth. It is only the stiching that has gone (disintigrated in the Sun).

Alternatively, will look at repairing this myself using a tool used to repair sails: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scoolr-Sewi...ateway&sr=8-15

Anyone else any other suggestions.

Edit: just done a google search and found a few other compaines, so hopefully will be able to find someone to do this at a resonable cost.

Hi szhjcn

We used these guys Griesser last year to replace our back garden sonnenstoren (awning) and we were very happy with the result. We chose something from their cassita range if i recall...

I don't know if they can help with your problem but we had a good experience in dealing with them, so it's worth a share.

I'd be interested too but we only want the cloth replaced and not the mechanism.

A ball-park figure would be good before I get out my wife's sewing machine.

Unless it's just a corner/reinforcement which has let go, chances are that the cloth is end of life too.

Good luck trying to do a 4m long double row of stitching by hand.

Try Weber Storen in Obfelden. Super service.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies.

So far the two companies that have come back to me say they need to completely replace the material. Cost in the region of 1500chf per blind which are around 5.2m x 2.2m, 3k for the two.

As I'm not working will try the manual sewing route for now, then guess will have to bite the bullet and have the material replaced.
