Do you know if this is allowed? In my country, this would invalidate the contract, and would allow me to change my provider immediately, without paying any penalties for leaving the company early.
Would it be the same here?

So looks like they can.
I already have home internet via 5G with them. Theoretically 300 Mbps, in reality it's 100 Mbps during the day, and 150-200 Mbps during the evening. Good enough and most importantly, cheap and prepaid for 1 year. It couldn't be easier and leaves you wondering about the idiocy of monthly invoices.
The rent will increase by around 5% (or more), the GA will increase by 5%, the health insurance ,the groceries........
But your income will not increase by 5%.
a 2.31% increase.
19. AMENDMENT OF CONTRACT CONDITIONS
Sunrise reserves the right to amend the contract terms
and conditions at any time if said amendments are justified
by legitimate interest. Any amendments shall be notified to the
customer in a suitable form and with reasonable advance no-
tice of up to 30 days.
The customer must accept amendments to the contract con-
ditions for technical and operational reasons, insofar as such
amendments are advantageous to the customer or cause a
negligible reduction in performance, without affecting key pro-
visions in the contractual relationship. Furthermore, amend-
ments which are necessary as a result of statutory require-
ments (e.g., increase of the sales tax or copyright levies) or
judicial orders shall be admissible.
If, in other cases, Sunrise changes pricing or performance and
the overall cost (price) to the customer is higher or particular
performance is reduced significantly, the customer may termi-
nate the contract or the relevant services without cost implica-
tions with effect from the date on which the change comes into
effect pursuant to section 18, insofar as Sunrise does not sub-
mit one of the following substitute offers to the client according
to the client’s choice within 14 days after receipt of the can-
celation: the unchanged continuance of the previous contrac-
tual provisions or the compensation by suitable means of the
overall burden for the customer as a result of the change.
If the customer does not terminate the contract by the end
of the advance notice period, the amendments to the con-
tract conditions shall be regarded as approved. The
amendment or substitute offer then becomes an integral
part of the contract.
If the change affects an additional service or an option, the
right of termination shall relate exclusively to the additional ser-
vice or option.

you know, for .90, i was just going to get on with my life, but now i feel a surge of pettiness arising from within...
From the wording of the FAQs it sounds to me as if you do have the right to cancel your contract if you don't agree, though this is not explicitly stated. It will depend though on when they notified you how long a window you still have.
I was meant to say my contract has NOT expired. I started it back in April for 12 months.
But I haven't been notified of any increase. Just saw this thread and checked my bill and noticed the bill will be higher this month compared to the last.
i only opened this month as the amount changed and didn't even see the notification as i checked only the previous month (where they didn't bother to repeat the notification). it look's like the tried to hide it the best they could so that you can't even cancel within the time limit of the 'notification'. sneaky buggers!
FYI. I have been with Sunrise since 2018.
I called UPC and they have made a better offer on a 24 month contract which would eliminate the cable charge but told me if I cancel I would have to pay the full charge for the cable for the year which would be a pain as 500 makes a big difference to the calculation. Is there any wiggle room here. I need to see if can I find my original contracts
