Swiss companies with restaurant facilities

Are there medium sized or bigger companies in Switzerland, that host restaurant facility inside their sites, in order to provide meals for their employees?

What is the situation about this topic in Switzerland?

If you would also name a few of them(if they do exist) it would be helpful.

Yes, there are.

Helpful to whom/what?

Why you need to know?

as above, yes there are plenty

and why?

Plenty, I think we have five or six different cuisines on our campus.

It is good to know that there are plenty of them.

Maybe they mention this facility in each company's web site, maybe not.

In my opinion, the existence of such facility, would be a plus to prefer it over other companies.

It is not the major thing in any case. But personally I cannot ignore it too.

They would take care to point that out during interviews, especially with the importance of eating with your co-workers here.

Surely, nice to have, but from an employees perspective not a deciding factor?

I have worked in companies all over the world, some with and some without canteens. Personally, I like to eat outside of the office environment where possible for several reasons.

It is good to hear it.

But, it would be better if I could find it out even before sending my cv's to some companies.

We have a restaurant and I hate it. Despite being decent for cafeteria food, and it's expensive and they try to charge me for hot water. I've made it a personal mission to bring them down singlehandedly, I often take salt and sambal oelek despite not having purchased a meal, and when I do purchase a meal, all of which come with a free slice of bread, I try to get the thickest slice possible. Plus for some reason bankers love to come eat here and I hate bankers .

I supposed that these inside restaurants would be rather cheaper than eating out. Am I wrong?

But it is an unanswered challenge to even find them, before sending cv's.

Usually from what size and above, I can guess that a company has a strong possibility to host an internal restaurant? Let's say for example, from five hundreds employees and above? (supposing that these employees work to the same site). Even a generic approach would better from nothing.

I think that you are not finding this information readily available because generally people do not make decisions about where to send CV's based upon the availability of an on-site restaurant, but rather the company itself, its history and line of business as well as their personal qualifications for open positions.

Yeah, there's a few hundred criteria in a potential employer I find more more important than a cafeteria I'll barely eat at.

I think there are many more important criteria to worry about like if the company that you are joining has good social and environmental ethics, transparent financial accountability and a good commercial strategy as well as excellent talent development facilities.

I know the local Würth company has a restaurant inside, one of the car dealerships and a hochschule where we often went to eat at their cafeteria because the food and portions are great for only 8 francs. They update this menu weekly... http://www.ibw.ch/Dokumente_Allgemein/MenueBistro.pdf

Before moving to CH, absolutely. Different cuisines, different people (outside work), different locations, different prices. And to get out of the office

Here in Zurich? I bring my lunch in Already I consider myself lucky, as the kitchen is reasonable big, nicely decorated, and quite well equipped But Zuri prices, got used to the beer prices, but unfortunately not quite the food prices...

As I said before, the existence of a restaurant would never be a major factor, even for me.

But, this topic is made for discussion about this aspect.

The fact that we discuss it here, does not mean that it is an important thing!

But it useful to know.

It is like being ready to buy a car. I want to know all major features, but it would be useful to know also some minor things too.

It appears to me, that you have a history of doing research on the forum, without being too concise on what exactly the scope is. Would you mind stating the scope of your question?

I would have thought the quality of food served might be a factor, not just the fact that 'food' is available.

If your company has a restaurant you will have lower tax deductions to make on your tax return.
