Hi all,
So I'm now living in Baselland and working in Basel-Stadt, and looking for Swiss German courses. My high German is C2 or native, depending on the time of day.
From a couple of searches, I've found two courses near my work, at the Volkshochschule beider Basel ( https://www.vhsbb.ch/kursprogramm/de...rstehen-279663 ) and the ubiquitous Migros Klubschule ( https://www.klubschule.ch/Kurs/Schwe...E_1405867_1152 ).
Feedback on the Migros offering is generally good, though I've found nothing specific to Basel.
Any experience of either of these two institutions?
Thanks
Michael
Migros taught the Bern dialect when my wife did the course. I'm learning the Basel dialect at the
GGG . It's fun, with an interesting mix of people. I find it quite hard as my German is only B1/B2 level, but there are several native Germans in my class.
Thanks for the response. I'm surprised they teach Bern dialect at Migros, but maybe that works better for me as a lot of people I interact with are from Zurich, Thurgau and Bern. Anyone from Basel is from Baselland, which I understand speaks something between Basel and Zurich dialect. I'm used to hearing Zurich dialect and understand it quite well.
Aside from the not-so-local dialect, what did your wife think about the course/teaching?
