Exactly right, i aggregate feeds from different sites based on different keywords, extract some info and categorize them accordingly. Also, the site is not meant to generate income, I created it as a project for my studies and have been redesigning / developing it for the last few weeks.
The reason why I have the registration option there, is that I have the plan to allow companies to add their jobs to a seperate section of the site (for free) and visitors who register (for free) will have the ability to search through those as well.
Your point of a privacy policy is a very good point and something I have not though of (since site has been free and more of a project)...
I am working on the performance issues..
So please don't take my post as advertisement of some sort, its a free site, feel free to use it, it will get better in the next few weeks as more work gets done, i do not intend to make any $,
There are probably 500+ companies listed. You'll recognize many of them, and most of the links go to the company's website. The websites in english may be an indication that english is the spoken language.
If you are still looking for a job in english speaking compnies then you can also try this one:
Global Petroprojetcts Services AG
Uetlibergstrasse 134
8045 Zürich
043 210 22 00
It is the recruitment company, the generall language is english, they take different nationalities and this job is a good start in Swiss, so you can get experience, knowledge and etc.
I did not have time to read all the responses, but one agency which I found very good for English speaking positions though they specialise in banking. The link is http://www.futurewatch.ch/ . I would suggest contacting Simon Portalski. They are very small, and not well known, but definitely worth a try!!
I'm also looking for English-speaking work (in Zurich) and I've gone through all the links listed in this thread so far - thanks to everyone who has posted them.
Here are some links/company names that I've been told hire English speakers:
I've also got some pretty specific questions about jobs in Zurich that I was hoping someone may have advice on:
Does anyone know of any English speaking newspapers / magazines that may want writers / editors / sub-editors? Or any corporate communciations / publishing companies that may? (I'm finding most online ads are for banking or IT!)
nymong congratulations, give us the tips were did you find it. My personal probleme is "over qualify" or "German mother tongue" I am in German level 2 according to the school, but the companies which had been calling me for interview are English speaking.
Do you know any places to apply for informal holiday work over the ski-season (december to march)? I have tried most of the hotels but they mostly seem to be full. Does any1 know where you can apply to factories for temporay work. I speak no German.
Hi there, I'm happy that I found this site while browsing for an English Speaking Companies here in Switzerland. I've been here for almost 11 months will be 1 year next month. I just got married and now looking for jobs here. I graduated as an engineer in my country but never really had the chance to practice my field because I worked as a call center agent for 2 years which also indulge in "technical support". I am currently working in one of a fiber optics company in Küssnacht but only as temporary. And I think they are not hiring at the moment. The problem is if there is no work for me that means I don't report to the office. And that means also that my salary is not stable at the end of the month. I would like to work any kind of job as a start.
Once a week, i go to my private teacher for working out my German. But to tell you it's not easy learning this language. At least i'm having fun.
Any recommendations for any English Speaking Companies here is greatly appreciated. Thanks :-)
There were many posts in this thread indicating employment agencies in Switzerland. I visited their web sites but there's nothing there about prices. So my question is: how those companies make money? Do you have to pay a fee when they find you a job or they charge a percentage of your salary? And if so, for how long? Do you have any idea about the values involved?
I don't know about the general practice, but the agency that found me for my permy job here got 3 months of my salary - not from me you understand, but my employer. Who knows if it was worth it?? I like to think so
If the job you take is permanent then the Agency is paid a one off fee by your employer, nothing should be paid by you. However if you take a contract position then a percentage of your wage is taken every month to pay the agency. The actual percentage varies depending upon the agency and your rate and you don't always know what it is. You negotiate your hourly/daily/weekly rate with the agency and that is what you get; their cut is on top of that from your employer.
