Swiss public travel for senior + discounts?

I have a friend visiting that's 80yrs old

they will be in Switzerland for 10days

Are there any Senior prices for public travel I/they should be aware of.

I don't see any price discounts for seniors on the Zurich Tram system

The GA pass has a multiple month requirement.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have never found any special discounts for senior citizens visiting us.

We usually recommend our visitors get either:

Swiss Travel Pass (~chf400 for 8-15 days) which is like a GA + various museum tickets etc, or

Swiss interrail ticket (about chf200 for 8 days for +60 year olds), but that only includes trains so is no good if doing lots of travel on trams or buses etc

There’s a 1 month GA. Mother in law bought it last time she visited us. It was printed on paper and a passport size photo glued to it. However, that was before covid, not sure if SBB has changed the terms.

Of course it’s a bit more expensive than a long term GA, but much cheaper than buying single travel tickets.

Check the terms, apparently all you need is a passport and a passport size photo. Better ask directly to SBB.

Wow a GA card for a month would be great --- the cost, Hmmmm that's expensive (currently 400+ chf) but I like the idea.

ZVV has a special offer at the moment for seniors. It also includes reduction or free entry to museums and free transportation within the ZVV

Get commune tickets, at 80 years old it is unlikely she will want to travel every day of her stay !

I might be reading this incorrectly - so please tell me where I'm wrong:

* Cost 110chf

here's where I'm confused - is it free or 110chf?

Are they saying: for 110chf you can use all ZVV transportation without purchasing a "daily" ticket.

Yes. You pay CHF 110.- for 30 days of free unlimited travel within the ZVV area. That is train, tram, busses, boats. Additionally there is free or reduced entrance fees for some museums and churches. So it might be a good offer for someone visiting. It will mean they don't need to worry about buying the right ticket. They have like a GA for within the ZVV region (which is by the way larger than Canton of Zurich). Also Rapperswil is covered I think for example

The German version of the ZVV site says "freie Fahrt", which I am guessing is not the same thing as "gratis". Like in French: "vous pouvez voyager librement" is not the same as "vous pouvez voyager gratuitement".
